More than a dozen countries have already approved the vaccine for use and more likely more countries to follow now that it has received the Lancet’s seal of approval. Sputnik-V has advantages like it is more cheaper and does not require the same sort of ultracold storage infrastructure that would complicate distribution of Pfizer vaccine in much developing world.
 
Kazakhstan has already started to produce Sputnik-V, Turkey signed to produce Sputnik-V (although 1 million / year). Iran, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile started using them. Germany recently stated that they might consider to give license as it passed to Sputnik-V the approval of EU regulators.
 

These development say something about the quality and integrity of the scientific enterprise within Russia. This amount to rare soft-power victory for the Kremlin, a genuine one.
