Sudan’s government faces immense challenges such as huge deficit and widespread shortages of essential goods and soaring prices of bread and other staples. Sudan is $70 billion in debt and its annual inflation soared past 200% in recent months. Therefore, there are protests in Khartoum in recent weeks. The rapid deteriorating economy prompted amid protests in the cities of Sudan i.e. security forces used tear gas in South Darfur to disperse the protesters after alleged attempts to storm shops in the city. Moreover, schools are also closed in North Darfur. Security police arrested more than 100 people after protests turned violent in North Kordofan.

There are 14 rebel leaders who joined the ruling Sovereign Council. It has been crucial goal to stop the uprising and the best way is to form government from leaders of rebellion group. However, it does not construe that development can be sustained by stopping the violence alone. Sudan requires technocrat state officers who can manage to set up economic programme. However, it would be difficult not to have conflicts with rebel leaders who have personnel interests in national resources.

Unless rebel leaders might find a way to build economy again, Sudanese will continue to protests in the cities which would find to disperse the protesters in future.
