For Turkey to stay in the course, Turkey has to align with the trend but not standing against the trend. This has been the case since WWII. Turkey is aware that Turkey cannot trust the commitments but has to create the mutual benefits with its competitors to create a peaceful period to recover economically as well as attracting the investors.
US wants to deploy the major military resources to contain the rising China threat. And for that reason, US need to ensure the stability of the Middle East. Therefore, US needs to act quickly to maintain such relations between major nations. US compels Saudi Arabia and UAE to align with Israel to counter Iran threats. So far, it works. But Turkey has to be coherent with this new coalition.
So far, Turkey’s agenda is different from others. Turkey has good relations with Iran and Russia whereas has problems with UAE, Saudi Arabia, Greece and Egypt. However, Turkey needs to align with the trend and get along with Israel and its coalition members. This would create Turkey the time to recover economically. Such alliance would compel Iran to get along with US new nuclear deal. It would help US to concentrate all efforts on Russia and China.
Therefore, such alliance, temporary, would be beneficiary to all states in the region. But make no mistake, none will let their guard down. Instead, they will use this time to strengthen the economy as well as strength.
