Actually, there is nothing new. A new Kremlin-Controlled opposition party named “New People” will enter Duma after barely attaining the 5% of the support required under regulations. The purpose of this new party was to add a taste of democracy to the elections before the people eyes as well as international community. Naturally, no meaningful impact shall be expected on domestic and foreign politics.

According to Levada Center, two out of five Russians cannot afford basic necessities due to lack of government insufficient economic support and high inflation. Although Kremlin puts the blame on covid-19 and the unwillingness of people getting vaccinated, the election is over and it is unknown if Putin will step in and introduce rigid rules for vaccination.
During the election, the internet is controlled and Google has deleted all Navalyn apps and news for Russia. In some regions, there are online voters and those voters cannot be controlled. It arises many concerns about the election despite the fact that nothing can be backed with evidence. Nothing is changed in Russian politics so far but unpopularity of Russian government and poverty among Russians grow day by day. This is naturally alarming to Kremlin but as the previous election showed, Kremlin would do anything to secure the 2024 Presidential election.
