Turkey will stay committed to anti-Kurdish military operations and protect its interests in East Mediterranean regions. The operation Claw-Tiger emphasizes this by differentating itself from previous military actions. Previously, Turkey has been conducting airstrikes in northern iraqi territory but deployment of land forces illustrates Turkish committment to eliminate PKK threat.
PKK has demonstrated some attach in Turkey and to Turkish basis in Iraq and Syria. This alarms Turkish security forces to take actions. It is NOT suprising to see Iraq retaliating Turkish military deployment strngly since Iraq economically is tied to Turkey. Moreover, Turkey has not imposed any risk to oil-rich areas i.e. Kirkuk or Sinjar. Unless Turkey imposes risks to those areas, Iraq will likely to look other direction and give weak reaction to this deployment.
However, still it imposes very vital indication that Turkey can operate at the same time in Iraq, Syria and Libya with landforce while Turkish navy is Mediterrenean region increasing its influence.
It has been first time since collapse of Ottoman empire that Turkey has been military engaged in three countries. And it looks like Turkey intends to increase its influence and secure its interests via diplomatic and military efforts.
