The reports note that Trump will not accompany the announcement with a final decision to relocate the US embassy there from Tel Aviv. They do not detail whether Trump will explain whether Jerusalem is Israel’s capital in part or in whole— one of the thorniest issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict long left to the parties to negotiate in a final status settlement.

The U.S. State Department's security arm, the Diplomatic Security Service, has been told to plan for potentially violent protests at U.S. embassies and consulates once President Donald Trump's administration announces it's moving the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, CNN reported Dec. 2.

In a warning to Washington, Hamas on Saturday said US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel would lead to an “escalation” of the “Jerusalem intifada.”

It is certain that such moves would inflamate tensions in Middle East.
