Protests continued for the third day in the Kurdish Region, and a night curfew was imposed on a number of cities in the Suleimaniyah province. Demonstrators have set fire to several government buildings and party offices. 

The mayoral office of Kifri said in a statement that civilian movements across the city will be prohibited from 20:00 (+3 GMT) in hopes of preventing further violent actions.

Only security vehicles will be allowed to move across the city, according to the statement.

Arbil has been struggling with a financial crisis because of budget cuts by the Iraqi government, a decline in oil prices and the fight against the Islamic State.
