Guatemala plans to move the country's embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Guatemala President added that the decision was taken after discussion with Israeli Prime Minister.
Guatemala was one of nine nations to vote against a U.N. resolution.
Guatemala and Israel have long had close ties, especially in security matters and Israeli arms sales to Guatemala.
Guatemala is in what is known as the Northern Triangle of Central America. Violence, corruption and poverty have made them the main source of illegal migration to the US, which is giving them $750m (£560m) to provide better conditions at home.
Despite the fact that Guatemala and other 9 countries might move embassies to carry to Jerusalem, remaining nations will be reluctant to move.
