Reuters reported that PKK/YPG in Syria are getting indirect help from the government of President Bashar al Assad in their fight against Turkey. The Syrian government helps PKK/YPG to reach the nortwestern of Afrin areas via the areas controlled by pro-government forces. The intension of Syrian forces including PKK/YPG is not to stop but to reduce the pace of Turkish forces aiming to Afrin.

In order to stop this, Turkey has recently deployed more tanks into the region. However Turkey is neglecting the fact that the number of terrorist in the region including the assistance from Al-bashar government exceeds then number of Turkish soldiers at the site eventough the technical advantage lays with Turkey.

Turkey has to increase the infantry unit number in order to purge the terrorist. Moreover, there is  a risk of collision between Syrian forces and Turkish forces due to Syrian government assistance to PKK/YPG. This would complicate the things at site due to Russian & Iranian back up to Syrian government.
