Former Iraqi President and PUK (Oatriotic union of Kurdistan) died in Berlin. He suffered heart surgery in 2008 in US and went to Germany in 2012. He was an important figure in Kurdish Independence Movement. He formed the PUK in 1975 seperating from Mostafa Barzani. His political view differs from Barzani view and this has deepened till 2003. PUK has clased with KDP in between 2003-2004. By the mediation of United States of America, PUK and KDP reached an agreement where enabled him to be the first iraqi President between 2005 - 2014. He was the first Iraqi President who is not originally Arab.

His death might enable Barzani to be the ultimate Kurdish leader in the region
