The Turkish Defence Minister announced the delivery of S-400 Missile System during 2019 during his speech in the Budget Commission of the Parliament.

Turkey has entered an agreement in the begining of 2017 with Russian Federation to buy S-400 Missile system. Turkey has already made the Advanced Payment in the middle of 2017 since Turkey demands the system to be delivered early.

NATO states that it is each State's own decision to buy their defence needs but S-400 Missile system cannot be integrated into the Nato integrated defence system. Moreover, United States of America opposes Turkish purchase since it might expose the vulnerability of new air jets, F35 once Turkey starts using the system with F35 which the first delivery is scheduled during 2018.

The S-400 purchase agrement dictates Turkey to use Russian technician for maintenance which US is concerned since it might collect delicate information about F-35 air jets vulnerability.

Before the Iran embarge trial in New York scheduled on 04/12/2017, Turkish - American relations will be tested in different areas including economic and military cooperations. The tensions between two allies are likely to be streched.
