China and India agreed to work together to rebuild trust during a trip by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to New Delhi for bilateral talks.

It was the first trip since the two countries became locked in a monthslong standoff on the Doklam Plateau.

Doklam, disputed territory between China and Buthan, was the site of a military confrontation between Indian and Chinese forces between June-August.

It is unlikely for both states to give up its positions while both states are taking positions to increase their military presence in the region. This action should be seen as intension to decrease the tensions.
