The Egyptian and the Greek armed forces started on 31 October 2017 a military exercise namely "Medusa 2017". Egyptian newly purchased Mistral type warships as well as French made FREMM multi-mission frigate and German-built submarine S41 including Greek F-16 air jets are taking apart in the exercise on the shores of Rhodes.
Turkey is claiming that it is a violatin of 1947 Paris Agreement which Italy agreed to submit Rhodes to Greece under the condition that there would be no military exercise and / or training activities.
Moreover Greece, Egpyt and Israel plans to conduct joint air exercise in near future. It is likely that this would anger Ankara.
