Turkey has reportedly completed the Russian S400 Missile deal. This has increased the fear amoung the NATO members that Turkey has been moving away from democratic norms and is fostering a closer relationship with powers such as Russia.
Aa a matter of fact, NATO system is not operatable with Russian military system including S400 Missile System. US is especially concerned with the fact that Turkey would acquire F-35 in 2018 and any data acquired by S400 Missile System might expose the F-35 vulnureability.
It is not secret that some of the senators in the House want to drop Turkey from F-35 deal. If this would be favored, it would not only help te relations getting more complicated and force Turkey to move away from NATO allies. However US also cannot let Turkey to acquire S-400 Missile System.
Moreover, Turkey relies on foreign assistance to develop its national jet programme. In lack of international assistance, Turkey is unlikely to achieve its target.
